I had no idea that I’d receive the response that I did when I introduced my Gift Vouchers, just three days ago. Due to the (understandably) very limited website support that I was able to receive at the time, I had to jump in head-first and work it out by myself. Adding ecommerce to my non-ecommerce website, including an online credit card facility set-up was all a little daunting to say the least. To be honest, it took me the best part of a day but it appears that it’s something that I should have done quite a while ago.
I recieved my first order within 10 minutes of them going live. I won’t name the person, but it honestly brought a tear to my eye. I couldn’t believe that someone could be that generous, in such a spontaneous manner, so quickly.
So, it’s now four days later and I’ve sold a few more. People have been very very generous with the majority being purchased from repeat guests who know they’re coming back and are pre-paying their tour with me. The others are from my wonderful winery partners who have bought them for their membership list. I’m so happy to report that I know every single one of the people who have bought them.
My database of customers and wineries is quite small compared to many businesses, but to thell you the truth, I like it that way. I could call anyone of them right now and I know that they’s answer the phone and we coiuld chat. Many have been at least once before and have referred me to other guests. The wineries that I visit have dropped everything for me on numerous occasions and I’d do the same for them. I love them all.
It appears that I can’t say the word “thank you” enough lately. To my guests and winery owners/hosts, thank you, thank you, thank you! I know that everyone in Napa is doing in tough along with everyone else of course. Fires, floods, earthquakes, electricity shut-offs and now this! Wow!
